PINK HOMES IN GLEN INNES

Hubby & I went for a drive to Glen Innes on the weekend (that's about 40minutes from Inverell ) and we went for a walk down the main street looking through some select stores.
I looked though antique & vintage stores. We went to a couple of garage sales too but i ll keep those treasures for Thursday, I think.

Hope you liked the country homes in Glen.

3 or more Tuesday

I have 2 posts in one, I guess. First I wanted to show my 3 cheap finds that I found at the thrift store yesterday & the other is my scrumptious felt strawberries I bought from blogging friend Brenda:)
I couldn't believe it when I saw this cute little white dish from Embellish, it was very similar to the white cake plates I saw on Poof......Happy Home blog.
I got it for $1.

The second item was the fabric scarf thingy which I knew i had to have just because............. and the third item was that beautiful vintage square tablecloth which i really love.
There you have it, Three or More Tuesday!!!
As soon as I heard little COCO barking, i knew the my parcel had arrived from Brenda:)

How gorgeous are these!!, I raced straight outside to take a photo of them in the sunlight to post on the blog.

Hasn't she done a pretty job of packaging them up for me, I could have given them away as a gift just the way they were. I think NOT! Theyr'e MINE!

If you would like to purchase some like these ,she sells them for $10 for 1/2 dozen. I bought 1 dozen & she was kind enough to mixed them up for me, 6 red & 6 pink (of course). Isn't she wonderful!!& aren't they so sweet!!

You'll find her over at It's All Relative To Me @ http://itsallrelative-brenda.blogspot.com/.
If you'd like to participate in this or any future Three or More Tuesday's then pop on over to The Gypsy Corner @ www.thegypsycorner.com and join in.

Funky Fabrics

Just a litte bit of bragging & rambling from me today
& a fabulous find.

I landed my first job at age 15 while still in school. It was in a fabric, manchester & haberdashery department of the local Curlewis Farmer's Co Op. I was still at school studying Maths, English & Science & i took French and Textiles & Design as the electives.

Boy, did I suck at french but in Textiles & Design, I pretty much rocked, I reckon! I have a vivid memory of getting 99% /100 for drafting some outrageous sleeve pattern into a leg of mutton sleeve design. That's probably the closest I ever got to perfect, ahhh but what a good day to remember.
I had big plans of becoming a fashion designer & I would certainly use the french lessons when I travelled to France to exhibit my designs.

Well, I got the next big thing, landed a permanent full time position as a sales assistant in the local town.

...........Paris, France?? Well that's another story.

Anyway, I love fabrics.
I had been searching online for some bright, vintage style fabric. Maybe stripy, dotty and flowery, mmmmm definately PINK & maybe with a little bit of Red & yellow, green & blue.

I found a funky online store that had just what I wanted to make myself a funky

'50's mum' apron.

How absolutely, crazy, lucky am I ????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are the blocks of fabrics all lined up so i can choose. Mmmmmmmm which one???
Funky Frilly Apron Funky Animal Print & Frills

have some fun dreaming of your next big project

Feathered Friends Flock Together

Just had to show off my birdcage that houses one of my Christmas Angel. This little cage will protect her until December.
I also like to think of this angel looking over my mum & dad who I don't see often enough.
They both had a helping hand in making the lovely flower arrangement in the old clock frame behind the cage.
Too Clever aren't they? These sweet little birdies keep me company
while I sit at my office desk blogging away.

Pop on over to Gina's blog http://theshabbychiccottage.net where she has is hosting her Feathered Friends Party and share some fun

His & Hers Chokky Crackles

Hers

His

Who would have thought!!!
Hubby wanted me to make him some chocolate crackles this weekend.

Strange request , I thought.
maybe he was feeling a bit sentimental & thinking about his mum lately.
She always made him these whenever he wanted. She has been gone now for 3 years but not a day goes by that he doesn't think about her I'm sure.

I suggested we make them together. BUT i haven't made them before , he said.
Don't worry, they are soooo easy.
I showed him how to put all the ingredients into the bowl and then JUST MIX. Whoa he couldn't believe it was so quick. Then I showed him how to place the mixture straight into the patty papers.
BUT leave it up to a bloke to MUCK AROUND and put his own little twist on things. He turned a 5 minute job into a 25 minute job. Oh My Goodness!!!
can you see what he is doing??
He is squashing all the mixture, compacting it even, YES compacting it. Of Course he is, he thinks it's cement!!!doesn't he??

OH BOY!!!!!!!!

What can I say?except, you fill one tray your way and i'll fill the other my way.

so we went about 1/2 compacted cement style & 1/2 crunchy, crackly style.

HAH!!! Guess who got more ?????

MMMMMMMM Yummmy
What can I say?
I don't mind a bit of competition.

Maybe you can click on the photo for a better look. LOL

HEY, wouldn't she be perfect to cart around all your crafty vintagy stuff to markets for show??A real show stopper, i reckon.
